Credits
How AI pentests are paid for, what a run costs, and what happens to your balance.
Credits pay for one thing: AI pentests. Passive scanning, monitoring, alerts, reports and score history come with your plan and never touch your balance.
Where credits come from
- A plan. Essential grants its bundle every billing cycle (410 to 1,070 credits a month, depending on the bundle you picked). Business is sized to what you run. A yearly subscription is granted the whole year on day one.
- A top-up. Any account, including Free, can buy credits from the dashboard at €0.50 a credit, any whole amount from 100 to 200,000. A top-up does not change your plan.
You have one balance. Every credit in it either came with a plan cycle or was bought, and the dashboard shows the split.
What a pentest costs
Every pentest runs at a level, and the level sets how many credits the run can spend.
| Level | Credits | Expert review |
|---|---|---|
| Light | 400 | -- |
| Standard | 1,000 | 1 h |
| Deep | 4,000 | 2 h |
| Extended | 10,000 | 4 h |
| Maximum | 20,000 | 8 h |
Every level tests the same OWASP WSTG cases. A deeper level puts more agents, more attack waves and more user roles on the same target.
How a run is charged
- When the run starts, its level's credits are held: they leave your available balance so nothing else can spend them.
- When the run finishes, you are charged for what it actually used, never less than 100 credits and never more than the hold. The rest goes straight back.
- A run that fails is not charged at all.
- A run you cancel is charged only for the work it got through, with no minimum. Cancelling before it starts costs nothing.
The full report comes with the run. There is no second payment to read the findings, and a retest after you fix things holds no credits.
Running short
If your balance does not cover the level you pick, the Summary step in the wizard shows exactly how many credits you need and offers two ways out: buy the difference as a top-up, or run at a level your balance already covers.
Expiry
- Credits a plan grants last the cycle they belong to plus a grace month: thirteen months on a yearly grant, two on a monthly one. An unused grant is still spendable when the next one lands.
- Credits you buy last twelve months from the purchase, and they stay in your balance if you cancel your subscription.
- Spending always takes the credits closest to expiring first.
Refunds
Unused credits are not cashed out. You are never charged for testing you did not get: failed runs cost nothing, cancelled runs pay only for work done. If a report does not hold up, email contact@barrion.io and the credits that run spent are returned.
